It is with regret that we inform you of the temporary closure of The Eight Bells pub effective from today.

Trading for the past few months has been really challenging. Our customer numbers have fallen and act as a clear reminder that in these tough economic times, spending on eating and drinking out becomes a luxury. People are looking to cut their household costs as a result of the unprecedented price rises we’re all experiencing in every aspect of our day to day lives. These price increases have also had a material impact on our operating costs and in addition, we face an ongoing struggle to recruit, with so many people having left the hospitality industry because of both Brexit and then Covid-19.

After three difficult years, we have been forced to make the very difficult decision to shut the pub in the short term to protect its long-term future. We are working very hard to find a practical solution for reopening as soon as possible in the autumn and will keep you updated via our website, social media platforms and through the Crendon Crier.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to our loyal customers for their support, remind you that our sister pubs will continue to operate as normal. and we look forward to welcoming everyone back soon!

From the whole team at The Eight Bells.
